الرُّؤْيَا ثَلاثَةٌ: فَبُشْرَى مِنَ اللَّهِ وَحَدِيْثُ النَّفْسِ وَتَخْوِيْفٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ.فَاِذا رَأى أحَدُكُمْ رُؤْيَا تُعْجِبُهُ فَلْيَقُصَّهَا إنْ شاءَ وَإنْ رَأى شَيْئَاً يَكْرَهُهُ فَلا يَقُصَّهُ عَلى أحَدٍ وَلْيَقُمْ يُصَلِّي. |
Dreams are of three kinds: God’s good tidings, reflection of one’s deeds and Satan’s threat. When one of you has a good dream, s(he) can narrate it to others if s(he) so wills, and should the reverse happens, s(he) has to narrate it to nobody, rising instead to prayer. |

الرُّؤْيَا ثَلاثَةٌ: مِنْهَا تَهَاوِيْلٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ لِيَحْزُنَ ابْنَ آدَمَ، وَمِنْهَا مَا يَهِمُّ بِهِ الرَّجُلُ في يَقْظَتِهِ فَيَرَاهُ في مَنَامِهِ، وَمِنْهَا جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأرْبَعِيْنَ جُزْءً مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ. |
Dreams are of three kinds: Satan’s threat to sadden the son of Adam, man’s wishes during the day dreamt at night, and one part of the forty-six parts comprising prophethood. |
